  2. Totally off topic, but I was channel surfing today and on one of the Hungarian channels (either m1 or Duna) I ran into the Sunday morning religious broadcast, and it was from one of the Greek Catholic churches from Hungary, the whole divine liturgy... I didn't watch it for very long, but it made me think of you.

    1. The Hungarian contingent is really really small...I might know the priests you saw (if they are under 50)

    2. The broadcast was from Debrecen, and András Fekete was conducting the divine liturgy. http://www.gorogkatolikus.hu/index.html?muv=pap&pap_id=63 He is one of the few Greek Catholic priests in Hungary that I actually recognize, from a service project at the time he lived in Győr.

  4. hi! I just found you blog and read your old post "You know that you're a priest's wife when" (2011 or something). It made me laugh so hard...i'm in the same condition as you, but i'm Italian and I am engaged to a future Byzantine Catholic priest. Many people just don't understand how a Catholic priest can have a girlfriend (we're in Italy so..you know, it's really hard to find someone who is not Roman Catholic). Many thanks for sharing your thoughts!
    All the best.

  5. As I read the previous poster's comment, I thought of a question raised in "101 Questions & Answers about the Eastern Catholic Churches" by Edward Faulk which asks about someone who has Italian family members who are Eastern rite Catholics and how was that possible. Turns out the Italo-Albanian Catholic Church is among those in communion with Rome--here's an article I found describing them: http://byzcath.org/ourladyofgrace/article.htm
Including St. Peter's at the Vatican, from the catholic churches we visited in Italy 9 years ago, they are magnificent!

  6. Thanks Elisa! I'm not sure which jurisdiction Light is under...maybe she and her fiance is temporarily in Rome at one of the colleges or maybe they are Italo-Albanian
