This Moment- Nervous for Nutcracker

Coming down to the wire- all those practices will pay off in less than two weeks!

  1. I've been teaching my senior ballet students the Nutcracker variations this year - I miss the Nutcracker performance days, though! When I was in Jr. High a company from Moscow did The Nutcracker in Dallas every Christmas and cast the small roles from the local studios. MOST FUN EVER. You didn't have to worry about keeping your job or making a grade! Those things tend to take the joy out of being a "bunhead".
    Good luck to your girls!

  2. This is my girls' 4th Nutcracker- they do it the weekend before Thanksgiving so they can hire 6 professionals to flesh out the performance from the bigger city close to us.

This year, both girls are party boys, soldiers and garland girls (in waltz- second act)

After Thanksgiving, we can relax and choose a different Nutcracker to see and enjoy- ours is the best, of course :)

  5. I would be nervous, too! They look well prepared, though. Love the pose there! I take ballet classes, but fortunately I get it easy as an adult: no performances. ;)

  7. They're so beautiful. You are a great mom, putting up with the adults, I'm sure. They won't forget this and have beautiful memories. Break a leg.
