Less Lupus, More Life- 31 days in October

I'll be posting on 'Less Lupus, More Life' for the 31 days link-up at The Nester. Look for recipes and ideas for an anti-inflammatory diet, exercise tips (ha!), and journaling while I try and get my lupus under control in time for a doctor appointment in November!
Click on the label "31 days 2013 Less Lupus" below this post for all of the posts as they are written

  1. It looks like we're on similar paths. I find diet has a huge impact on my health, both physical and mental. My husband and I have been following a "Primal" version of an anti-inflammatory diet for closet to two years. It's really helped, but we're starting to fall back into some bad habits. I'll be interested in seeing the approach you take, this month. Thanks so much for sharing!

    1. Thanks for being here! I am juggling lots of needs with our foods- my lupus, kids being kids plus a (flexible) need for fasting times (usually vegan or meatless) for religious reasons...it isn't easy!

  2. I was diagnosed with Lupus when I was 29 years old I had to go on disability for 1 year, I was miserable, depressed, and in so much pain, arthritis, predisone, antimalaria meds.. and more... I had flare after flare after flare . then someone told me to see a natrual path I did but I was sceptical... he told me that I needed to change my diet and gave me a script for a "health coach" I was pissed, that's it change my diet?? and see WHO ??? a health coach??? what is that- well I did, a little against my will, and a little curiosity.... she put me on a elimination/detox diet of whole foods... and the rest is history... I began to see a huge difference in my health with what I ate, I found food intolerances dairy especially and gluten made my symptoms worse and so did SUGAR. SO guess what I am a health coach now and I help people feel better again.... LIKE I never dreamed I would.. if you ever want to talk I would be glad to share ... eatmywords40@yahoo.com I am looking forward to reading your posts. I am doing a challenge at my blog my challenge is 31 days to Pause...thanks

  3. I'm catching up on blogs after a bit of a hiatus (still on a FB break), but would you be willing to forgo the fasting rules if eating outside of them made you feel better? I know that one can be dispensed from fasting, especially for health reasons. I don't think I've ever seen you discuss this and was wondering your thoughts.
