My not-so-secret dream is to have a standard, though I must say I've become a die-hard fan of the Plott Hound in the four years that we've had one.

And yeah, fish. Betta fish are actually fun, in their way -- we had one who used to travel back and forth with us from NC to Memphis, TN, in a jam jar in our van cup holder. The kids were all in deep mourning when he finally died. Still, there's nothing like a good dog as a friend for a child. It's hard to imagine what we did all those years before we finally had a dog.

Many happy years to your daughter and her dog friend!Sally Thomashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05014351173194941624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-902102460517670809.post-41738315568266604332012-08-09T03:39:33.349-05:002012-08-09T03:39:33.349-05:00Congratulations!Congratulations!Meghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14325005380700159153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-902102460517670809.post-83120946399189982772012-08-08T20:58:56.231-05:002012-08-08T20:58:56.231-05:00I think it was a good lesson- good dogs come to th...I think it was a good lesson- good dogs come to those who wait!priest's wife - S.T./ Anne Boyd https://www.blogger.com/profile/03792937108732259684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-902102460517670809.post-10185547411028635692012-08-08T20:57:27.880-05:002012-08-08T20:57:27.880-05:00hmmm.time to get yourself that chair ;)hmmm.time to get yourself that chair ;)priest's wife - S.T./ Anne Boyd https://www.blogger.com/profile/03792937108732259684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-902102460517670809.post-25052085939953007132012-08-08T20:56:51.862-05:002012-08-08T20:56:51.862-05:00so far, so good!so far, so good!priest's wife - S.T./ Anne Boyd https://www.blogger.com/profile/03792937108732259684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-902102460517670809.post-42165081167083342242012-08-08T19:00:07.893-05:002012-08-08T19:00:07.893-05:00When you see the look on her face, it's all wo...When you see the look on her face, it's all worth it. Well, let's just say...they seem more like an extra chore than anything else.

My mother still owes me a "slipper chair" (circa 1860) for getting perfect spelling in sixth grade.
